Destination & Next Generation: Co-Creating the Future – Folegandros Island

The first pilot program ‘Destination & Next Generation: Co-Creating the Future’ took place in Folegandros island on the 20th & 21st of April 2024. Twenty four students (60 students in total on the island) from junior school & high school (grades 5,6,7,8,9) participated in the program.

On Saturday morning the students completed a questionnaire which examined contemporary issues which concern them focusing on their destination, interests and tourism.

During the weekend, the students engaged in immersive presentations, discussions and a holistic approach to the phenomenon of travel, tourism and their destination.

Eudaimonia Tourism team member and responsible for Environmental & Agritourism programs, Varvara Kouneli travelled with us for our first pilot program.

The local students learned with Varvara, all about the most important native herbs and created a pilot herb garden in the school playground.

This initiative took place thanks to the support and cooperation of our ‘Folegandros Community’ team.
